Debbie Towns

Howdy! 

I am proud to serve as Counselor at M.H. Moore Elementary School. Promoting kindness, self-regulation, and positive behavior strategies are important to me. I love collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to help students be successful academically, behaviorally, and socially. 

I earned my Master of Education in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M in 2017. Whoop! Before becoming a counselor, I taught in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and in junior high for 12 years. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University and a Master’s degree in Management from Texas A&M University - Commerce. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in management.

I am married to my husband, Dave, and we have 5 children and 1 grandchild. We enjoy traveling and going to concerts whenever we have a chance. 

I am looking forward to a great school year! Go Mustangs!

The mission of the school counseling program is to empower and equip every student with the academic, career, and social-emotional skills necessary for success in a diverse and changing world. Through a rigorous and equitable program, we inspire students to cultivate a love for learning, develop strong self-advocacy, and grow into confident, resilient, and compassionate lifelong learners.
