Mr. Ricardo Alvarez Uzcategui
It is an honor to continue serving you as the principal of M. H. Moore Elementary School. I am very excited to be part of a vibrant school community with great students, parents, and educators. Let's work together to build a nurturing culture that promotes collaboration, respect, and academic excellence for all learners. It is important for me that students, teachers, parents, and overall community members feel welcomed and encouraged to be part of each child’s learning experience.
I began my career in education in 2013 as a bilingual teacher in Tyler ISD, where I taught first and fourth grade. In 2016, I became a bilingual/ESL instructional specialist at the district level, supporting bilingual/ESL programs for two years. I would then serve as the assistant principal at Bonner Elementary, a dual language school, for three years. Additionally, I have nine years of combined professional experience in manufacturing, supply chain management, and sales. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas, Venezuela, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler.
I am married and have two wonderful children, David and Emily. My wife, Patricia, is a bilingual teacher in Fort Worth ISD. When I am not working, I enjoy taking the kids to the park, playing soccer, jogging, cooking, and watching movies at home. We are grateful for the opportunity of being part of the Fort Worth ISD family.
I am looking forward to meeting you soon on campus! We are going to have an outstanding school year! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Phone: 817-815-0600. Email: Ricardo.alvarez@fwisd.org

This is my 13th year in education. I've taught Kindergarten through third grade here in FWISD. For five years I had the pleasure of being your Elementary Mathematics Coordinator, and this year will be my second year having the pleasure of being the Assistant Principal here at M. H. Moore Elementary. I completed my undergrad in English and Spanish education at The University of Texas at Arlington., graduate studies in ESL and Bilingual Education at Texas Wesleyan, and am currently working on my dissertation in Early Childhood-Bilingual Education at the University of North Texas. When I am not supporting M. H. Moore or studying, I spend my time with my three young kids, twins Sara and Cecilia who are entering 2nd grade and my son, Joshua who is starting Kindergarten! All three of my kids and I are proud to call ourselves M. H. Moore Mustangs!
